Makao Connect ("we", "us") provides internet business management software for hotspot operators and small ISPs. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can contact us about your data.

Information we collect

• Account details: name, email, phone number, business name.
• Workspace data: customers, packages, routers, transactions, and support tickets you store in Makao.
• Payment metadata: subscription billing records for your Makao plan (not customer WiFi payments).
• Usage data: logs needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.

How we use information

• Provide and maintain your workspace, including MikroTik sync and M-Pesa integrations.
• Send service notifications, billing reminders, and support responses.
• Improve reliability, security, and product experience.
• Comply with legal obligations when required.

Customer WiFi payments

End-customer M-Pesa payments for WiFi are processed through your configured payment provider and settle to your account. Makao Connect does not hold customer funds on your behalf.

Data retention & security

We retain workspace data while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure as needed for backups, billing, and legal compliance. We use encryption in transit, access controls, and tenant isolation to protect your data.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your account data by emailing hello@makao.co. Some records may be retained where required by law.
